Verhoef Dairy Farm

The Verhoef family's agricultural roots trace back to the Netherlands. Although their farming journey started in the Netherlands, the Verhoefs spent two decades on a small farm in the Mayenne Department of France before they made the decision to seek new opportunities in the United States.

In 2012, they purchased a dairy farm in Spring Green, Wisconsin. Despite the colder winters, the family quickly adapted and expanded their agricultural operation. Today, they manage a thriving herd of 280-290 Holstein cows with the support of their two sons, who are actively involved in daily operations and long-term planning.

Expansion Project with Pipping Concrete

As herd size and milk production increased, manure management became a critical focus. With stricter nutrient management regulations and a continued desire to improve sustainability, the Verhoefs identified the need for additional manure storage to ensure proper timing of field applications and avoid runoff risks during the winter months.

In partnership with our agricultural concrete team, the Verhoefs commissioned a large-scale manure storage tank in 2024. The large waste storage tank is 205 feet in diameter, 12 feet in depth, giving the family almost 3 million gallons of waste storage capacity. The concrete tank is built with durability in mind and is tough enough to withstand the freeze-thaw cycles and heavy load conditions typical of Wisconsin winters.

Pipping Concrete couldn't be happier to be a part of this project. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your expansion!
