Challenge: Managing Manure at Scale in a Harsh Climate
Like many dairy operations, Weiland farm has to manage large volumes of manure in a way that’s both sustainable and compliant with strict agricultural and environmental regulations.
Their waste management solution also needs to withstand the harsh winters, meaning it needs to be durable.
Solution: A 2.7-Million-Gallon Concrete Storage Tank
To tackle this challenge, Weiland Dairy partnered with Pipping Concrete. Pipping specializes in agricultural concrete and works with farms in the Midwest and throughout the United States. With more than 40 years of industry expertise, we brought unmatched knowledge and craftsmanship to the table.
We collaborated with local partners from Advanced Concrete and MSA to construct a 200-foot diameter, pre-approved round concrete waste storage tank.
Designed from the ground up, the tank is impressive, boasting a 2.7-million-gallon total capacity and 2.5 million gallons of usable volume.

The completed project aligns with the Weiland family's need for durability and functionality.
It is fully compliant with NRCS regulations and supports the farm’s broader sustainability initiatives by safely storing and managing waste for nutrient reuse.
Plus, the durable concrete and engineering provide resilience against Wisconsin’s weather fluctuations and the corrosive nature of manure storage.
