Mother Nature is No
Match For Us

Farming doesn’t stop for snow or rain, and neither does the team at Pipping Concrete. When cold temperatures hit, we keep projects moving with state-of-the-art ground thaw machines, portable heat systems, concrete blankets, and tenting to ensure thorough site insulation and prevent frost damage.

As we’re pouring concrete, we’ll use heated water, accelerators, and temporary heat to break the wind and maintain target temperatures for proper setting and curing.

  • Frozen Ground? No Problem. We prep, insulate, and protect your subgrade for a strong base even in sub-freezing conditions.

  • Controlled Cures: Heated water and mix accelerators keep your concrete setting right on schedule.

  • Protected From Frost: We use curing blankets, insulated forms, and wind barriers to maintain ideal curing temperatures.

  • Proven Strength Testing: Every pour is monitored with concrete cylinders and on-site slump and temperature checks for guaranteed performance.

Why Pour Concrete in Winter?

  • Stay Ahead of Spring Rush: Finish your concrete projects and ensure you’re in compliance  and ready to go when the busy season hits.

  • Stable Pricing: Avoid peak-season concrete and labor costs and the unknowns of current economic shifts and uncertainty.

  • Less Downtime: Work around your operation’s slow season to avoid disruption during peak planting and harvesting season.

  • Easier Scheduling: Winter weather means availability is generally more open. This provides more flexibility when choosing dates and timelines that work for everyone involved in the project.

FAQs About Winter Concrete

How do you pour concrete below freezing?

We use heated water, insulated blankets, enclosed work areas, and other cold-weather concrete pouring strategies to keep temperatures optimal from mix to cure.

Is winter concrete as strong as summer concrete?

Yes, when done correctly, cold-weather concrete is as strong or stronger than summer pours

Will the surface look different?

Not at all. With temperature control and correct curing, you’ll get the same smooth, durable finish that you expect from our manure tanks, feed pads, and other concrete structures.
