Abel Dairy Farm

Steve Abel, along with his father Allen and brother Bill, leads the 6th generation Abel Dairy Farm, a historic agricultural operation in Eden, Wisconsin. Established in 1857, the farm has grown into a thriving and innovative agricultural enterprise blending deep family tradition with modern farming practices.

Over the years, Pipping Concrete has had the privilege of partnering with the Abel family on several key agricultural concrete construction projects aimed to supporting the growth and sustainability of their dairy operation.

In 1999, we had the pleasure of working with the Abel Family to build our first round waste storage tank using aluminum forms. This waste storage tank held 4.7 million gallons. This marked an important milestone in both our concrete offerings and the farm's management strategy.

This experience was so positive that we went on to construct a second round tank in 2000. We designed our own custom-built gang forms specifically tailored to the scale and layout of the Abel facility. The second tank provided an additional 4.7 million gallons of waste storage. â€‹

In 2021, we were excited to come back and improve the sloped wall lagoon. The project aimed to boost the lagoon capacity to better serve their changing requirements and align with current agricultural practices. Pipping Concrete added 12 million gallons of storage to the lagoon.

We're deeply grateful for the trust the Abel family has placed in us over the years and proud of the enduring relationship we've built together. It been an honor to support their legacy and contribute to the continued success of one of Wisconsin's longstanding family farms.
